Hootsuite Reviews 2026: G2 vs Trustpilot Ratings and Complaints
Hootsuite has 4.3 stars on G2 but 1.3 on Trustpilot. We read the reviews: charges after cancellation, cards billed years later, slow support, and what users still like.
Hootsuite reviews are split. G2 gives it 4.3 out of 5. Trustpilot gives it 1.3, and 69% of Trustpilot reviews are one star.
Ratings and prices checked on 20 October 2026.
We read Hootsuite’s reviews on both sites in October 2026. G2 rates it 4.3 out of 5 from 7,510 reviews. Trustpilot rates it 1.3 from 556 reviews. The gap is the story. G2 reviewers talk about the scheduler. Trustpilot reviewers talk about the bill.
The Hootsuite complaints that repeat are charges after a cancellation, a card that keeps getting billed years after the account was closed, and support that does not answer when the charge hits.
Key takeaways
- Hootsuite is rated 4.3/5 on G2 (7,510 reviews) and 1.3/5 on Trustpilot (556 reviews).
- 385 of 556 Trustpilot reviews are one star. Most describe billing, not a broken product.
- The top three complaints: charges after cancelling, renewals years after closing an account, and no reply from support.
- Reviewers still like the scheduler. One calendar for many networks is why the G2 score holds.
- Standard is $99 per user per month on annual billing. Three users cost $3,564 a year. See current plans.
Our pick: Distribution.ai
Distribution.ai shows the renewal amount before it charges, and a cancelled account does not stay on the card.
- The price on the plan page is the price that renews. There is no second annual rate sitting in a contract.
- Cancellation stops the next invoice. Closing the account is the end of the charge, not the start of a yearly argument with the bank.
- A new teammate is priced before they are billable. On Hootsuite Standard, at $99 per user per month, the third person is another $1,188 a year.
- A post stays “scheduled” until Distribution.ai has a live URL from the network. It is not marked published on a send attempt.

Hootsuite ratings on G2 and Trustpilot
4.3 / 5
7,510 reviews, read 20 October 2026. G2 reviewers are mostly active users. They rate the scheduler and the calendar, and they mention price as the main drawback.
1.3 / 5
556 reviews, read 20 October 2026. Trustpilot labels that score Bad. Here is the full star split:
- 5 stars: 76 reviews (14%)
- 4 stars: 28 reviews (5%)
- 3 stars: 36 reviews (6%)
- 2 stars: 31 reviews (6%)
- 1 star: 385 reviews (69%)
Only 95 of the 556 reviews sit between two and four stars. People who post on Trustpilot about Hootsuite either loved it or got a charge they did not expect. On 20 October 2026 the page said Hootsuite had not replied to negative reviews.
Most of the 1.3 comes from older reviews. In our August 2026 count, 47 reviews had been posted in the previous 12 months. The 2026 reviews still describe the same charge.
The 3 most common Hootsuite complaints
1. Hootsuite charges after the account was cancelled
“The company fraudulently billed my credit card for a software suite ($1100) I neither knew about or wanted.”
Trustpilot, 1 star, 29 Sep 2026
The reviewer’s word is “fraudulently.” That is an allegation, not a finding. What the page shows is a charge the reviewer says they did not agree to, reversed by their bank.
Reddit tells the same story. In April 2026 a poster on r/Hootsuite said Hootsuite had confirmed a cancellation in writing in April 2024, then billed two more annual charges of $1,188. The thread was surfaced in NapoleonCat’s analysis of 148 Hootsuite reviews on Reddit. It is one customer. It matches the Trustpilot pattern.
On Distribution.ai. Cancellation takes effect before the next invoice. The plan page states the amount that will be charged and the date it will be charged. There is no second document that turns a cancelled account back on.
2. A closed Hootsuite account keeps billing the card, years later
“We closed our account with them in 2021, but still every year they charge my card £1200. Every year I have to chargeback the amount with the bank.”
Trustpilot, 1 star, 31 Mar 2026
That is five years of charges after the reviewer says the account was closed. The review is one person’s account. The amount, £1,200 a year, is in the same range as one Hootsuite Standard seat on annual billing, which is $99 a month, $1,188 a year.
On Distribution.ai. A closed account has no renewal. The card on file is not a subscription that outlives the account. If a charge is wrong, the receipt shows the plan, the period, and the date the renewal was shown.
3. Hootsuite support does not answer once the money has moved
The same March 2026 review says the only way to get the £1,200 back is a chargeback. A separate Trustpilot review from 2026 says the reviewer cancelled a trial, was charged $150, wrote to support, and got no reply.
G2 does not tell this story. G2 is full of people who use the product and like the calendar. Trustpilot is full of people who are trying to make a charge stop.
On Distribution.ai. A billing dispute goes to a person, and the renewal date is visible before the charge, so the argument is not the first time the customer sees the number.
What Hootsuite reviewers like
One calendar for a lot of networks
“We’ve used Hootsuite for years and really love the platform itself. It’s powerful, intuitive, and makes managing multiple client accounts easy.”
Trustpilot, Gabriella Cray, 4 Nov 2025
“This is a very comfortable CMS for many many platforms.”
Trustpilot, Sothikus, 17 Mar 2025
G2’s 4.3 is this review, repeated thousands of times. The scheduler is not the thing Trustpilot is angry about.
On Distribution.ai too. One queue for the networks you actually post to. The difference is the status. Hootsuite reviewers, on other write-ups of the same complaint, describe a post that fails with no alert. Distribution.ai leaves it scheduled until there is a live URL.
It is the tool teams already know
Eighteen years in market is why the G2 count is over 7,000. Agencies already have a login, a client structure, and a habit. That is a real advantage, and Distribution.ai does not copy it by saying “all-in-one.”
If you need social listening and an enterprise inbox, Hootsuite is built for that, and the Trustpilot score does not erase it. Read the bill before you stay for it.
Hootsuite pricing in 2026
Hootsuite prices every plan per user. These are the annual-billing rates on Hootsuite’s plans page, read 20 October 2026. Taxes are extra. Every paid plan has a 14-day free trial, and there is no free plan.
| Plan | Price (per user / month, billed annually) | Social accounts |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $99 | Up to 10 |
| Professional | $199 | Unlimited |
| Advanced | $399 | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Custom | Unlimited |
Per-user pricing adds up fast. Three people on Standard cost $99 × 3 = $297 a month, or $3,564 a year. A fourth user is another $1,188. That per-seat number is also roughly the yearly charge Trustpilot reviewers describe after cancelling.
Our verdict
Is Hootsuite worth it? It is well liked as a scheduler, but its Trustpilot reviewers keep getting billed after they thought they had left.
- G2 rates it 4.3 from 7,510 reviews, with praise for scheduling across many accounts. Trustpilot rates it 1.3 from 556 reviews. Both read on 20 October 2026.
- 69% of Trustpilot reviews are one star. The 2026 ones still describe renewal charges, including a $1,100 charge in September 2026 and a £1,200 yearly charge the reviewer says has continued since 2021.
- Three people on Standard, the plan that covers up to 10 social accounts, cost $3,564 a year. Professional is $199 per user. Advanced is $399.
- If you stay, put the renewal date in your calendar and get any cancellation confirmed in writing. If you leave, check your card statement for the next renewal date anyway.
