Connect Distribution.ai to Claude, ChatGPT and ask your assistant to draft, review and schedule social posts without leaving the conversation.
What you can do
- Generate posts from a URL — a blog post, podcast episode or YouTube video
- Refine posts you already have — “make these punchier”, “shorter, no hashtags”
- Stage post text you wrote yourself, up to 50 at a time
- See your posting calendar: what’s scheduled, what published, and what failed
- See the next open slots in your posting schedule
- Schedule to any connected channel, and cancel a whole batch in one step
- Create and edit brand voices and style guides
Channels
You can schedule to LinkedIn, X, Threads, Facebook, Mastodon and Bluesky.
Instagram and Pinterest accounts appear in your channel list but can’t be scheduled from the connector — both require an image, which the connector can’t attach. Schedule those in the app.
YouTube videos can be used as a source to generate posts from; the connector doesn’t post to YouTube.
Connecting
Add this as a connector in your assistant: https://app.distribution.ai/mcp
- Claude — Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector
- ChatGPT — Settings → Plugins (Developer mode) → Create app
Sign in with your Distribution.ai account and choose the workspace to connect. Each connection is bound to one workspace — connect again to use another.
What it can access
- read — your content, style guides, brand voices and posting calendar
- write — create and edit them
- posts:write — schedule posts to your connected social accounts
What it will not do
- It never publishes immediately. Every post is scheduled and appears on your calendar first, so you always see what will go out and when.
- It can’t read your Distribution.ai chat history.
- It can’t reach another workspace. The workspace is fixed when you connect.
- It won’t substitute a channel. Ask for a platform you haven’t connected and it tells you, rather than posting somewhere else.
- In a workspace that requires post approval, it stages posts but won’t schedule them until they’re approved in the app.
Requirements
A Distribution.ai account, at least one connected social channel, and a posting schedule configured under Settings.
Reading your content, channels and calendar works on any plan. Creating, refining and scheduling posts requires an active subscription or trial — without one, those tools return a message explaining why rather than failing silently.
Disconnecting
Settings → Connected apps → Revoke. The connection stops working on the next request.
Some things to try
- “What channels do I have connected?”
- “Turn this blog post into LinkedIn and X posts” — then paste a link
- “What’s going out this week?”
- “Show me what I’ve generated recently”
- “Schedule those over the next week”
- “Make the LinkedIn ones shorter”
